Mānoa Falls Trail

HikesOʻahuChecked Oct. 30, 2026

One of Oʻahu's easiest hikes: 1.6 miles round trip (about an hour) through Mānoa Valley rainforest to a roughly 150-foot waterfall, near Lyon Arboretum above Honolulu. Expect mud and slippery rocks; don't swim in the pool.

  • Difficulty: easy, good for beginners.
  • Length: 1.6 miles round trip, about 1 hour.
  • Trail is rocky and often muddy and slippery; wear sturdy shoes, not slippers.
  • Don't swim or wade: the Hawaiʻi Department of Health discourages it because of leptospirosis, and signs warn of landslides and flash floods.
  • Parking: a paid private lot at the end of Mānoa Road (fees have been reported between $5 and $7), or free street parking lower in the neighborhood. Confirm current rates on arrival.
