Hālawa Valley guided hike to Moʻoula Falls (Molokaʻi)

HikesMolokaʻiChecked Oct. 29, 2026

Hālawa Valley at Molokaʻi's east end is one of the oldest settled valleys in Hawaiʻi. The hike to 250-foot Moʻoula (Moaʻula) Falls crosses private land, so you must go with a guide: the Solatorio ʻohana leads tours at 9 a.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday through Saturday, about 3.4 miles round trip with two river crossings, $100 adults and $65 kids 4 to 12.

  • Guided only: the valley is privately owned.
  • Solatorio ʻohana tours: 9 a.m. Mon., Tue., Thu., Fri., Sat. (closed Wed. and Sun.). About 3.4 miles round trip with two stream crossings.
  • Price: $100 adults, $65 kids 4 to 12; two-person minimum.
  • Another guide, Mystical Molokai, has also led valley hikes.
  • Wear closed-toe shoes that can get wet; expect mud and mosquitoes.
  • Local lore: float a ti leaf on the pool; if it sinks, don't swim.
