Kauaʻi is quiet at night, and most live music ends by 9 or 10 p.m. Favorites include Tahiti Nui in Hanalei (a classic local hangout with nightly music), Rob's Good Times Grill in Līhuʻe (bands and dancing several nights a week), the Hanalei Gourmet (Hawaiian, jazz, rock and folk), and Duke's Barefoot Bar at Kalapakī Beach.

  • Tahiti Nui (Hanalei): long-time local bar with live music nightly, about 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
  • Rob's Good Times Grill (Līhuʻe): sports bar with live music on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights, plus trivia.
  • Hanalei Gourmet: in a restored schoolhouse; Hawaiian, jazz, rock and folk Wednesday through Friday evenings; open until about 10:30 p.m.
  • Duke's Barefoot Bar (Kalapakī Beach, Līhuʻe): contemporary Hawaiian music daily in the late afternoon and evening.
  • Keoki's Paradise (Poʻipū): bands on Friday and Saturday evenings until about 9 p.m.; younger crowd.
