Huli huli chicken stands

Hawaiian food & lunch wagonsStatewideChecked Oct. 29, 2026

Huli huli chicken is chicken grilled over kiawe wood and turned (huli means turn in Hawaiian) while basted with a sweet sauce. Roadside stands and trucks sell it all over the islands; on Oʻahu, Mike's Huli-Huli Chicken in Kahuku is a favorite.

  • Oʻahu: Mike's Huli-Huli Chicken, 56-565 Kamehameha Highway, Kahuku, listed daily 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. (March 2026).
  • Hawaiʻi Island: Randy's Huli Chicken and Ribs in Kealakekua; GJ's Huli Chicken in Waimea.
  • Weekend roadside fundraiser stands often sell huli chicken too; they usually sell out by early afternoon.
  • Order a half or whole chicken, or a plate with rice and mac salad.
  • Hours and parking spots change often, and trucks can close early when they sell out. Check the truck's Instagram, Facebook or Google listing the day you go.
